Hatteras Island, NC (September 2, 2011) - Organizers announced today that Day at the Docks will not be held on September 17.
Planning committee members noted the severity of Hurricane Irene damage to the northern villages on the island and inaccessibility of the island to residents and visitors as factors that went into the decision.
We are all so disappointed. Day at the Docks is a high point of the fall on Hatteras Island. With no idea when residents will be able to participate, much less visitors, it is a wise, but sad decision. We will look forward to DATD’s return.
