After epic fish fight, female Seabrook soars into massive bluefin tuna

I fished a few times with my daddy Lew. Every time I grabbed a small bucket and removed the hook on my own, I felt like a pretty generous woman! LOL If I want to be a bona fide badass like Michelle Bancewicz Cicale from Seabrook, I have work to do. But hey, you have to start somewhere!

Michelle has fished most of her life. Like most things, if you implement the Three Ps, practice, patience, and persistence, you will surely improve yourself. In 2015 she started fishing mainly tuna and in 2019 she bought her own boat. The FV No Limits (FV = fishing vessel)

“No Limits” seems to be an apt name for Michelle’s boat. Remember when she encountered this Blue Fin monster on one of her first solo adventures in July? ! Can you say … BEAST MODE!?!?!

Over the weekend Michelle did it again! Except this time the fish was 109 inches long and 643 pounds dressed! This suction cup was not easy to mount on the boat as you can imagine.

This time, Michelle had the help of her second, Léa Pinaud.

They fought the big guy for four hours through lobster buoys and he almost coiled them 10 times! He was caught about 10 miles from Hampton Beach. Michelle told me it was by far the biggest fish she’s ever caught. The boat next to them captured drone footage of the epic fish fight that will be REALLY fun to watch!

Michelle has fished on many different boats and learned from some of the best captains. She said:

“I am very grateful for each of them. They have all been very respectful and supported me as one of the only female captains in the region. It’s not always easy to find a female crew who love fishing as much as I do. I’m always looking for the right female crew member. “

Michelle has her 100 ton boat captain’s license and does charters from Hampton. She also practices lobster fishing and holds a 100 trap license. If you ever want to join Captain Michelle on a fishing trip, contact her on Instagram @fv_no_limits!
