The Multicultural Festival will take place at Burnaby Park, Greystones on Saturday August 20 from 12pm to 6pm to celebrate diverse cultures. Music will be provided by DJ Spaqz, plus there will be live band Anitchie and dance numbers.
People are encouraged to dress in cultural attire.
Open mic for teenagers
Making Waves Youth Theater will host an Open Mic for budding teenage stars at Greystones new hangout, Rise at the Cove, on Friday August 19.
Join the band at Carraig Eden Cafe for the best of Greystones young talent and an evening of music, drama, poetry and comedy.

Taste of Greystones Regatta
Save the date for the Taste of Greystones Regatta at Greystones Sailing Club. He returns on August 27 and 28.
This is a cruiser/keelboat regatta. The first race will start on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The second and third races will be back-to-back and start on Sunday at 11 a.m.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to see sailing at its best right on our doorstep. For details, see gsc.ie.

There will be free chess sessions at Burnaby Park every Saturday in August from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
From 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. you can learn the basic rules, otherwise it’s just friendly matches.
A limited number of chess sets and games will be provided, but it is recommended that you bring a folding chair.

Meals on Wheels
Greystones Meals on Wheels operates its service two days a week.
The long-standing service provides people with delicious, healthy meals delivered to their doorsteps by friendly attendants.

Event at Greystones Library
In celebration of National Heritage Week, Greystones Library will host Brian White of the Bray Cualann Historical Society on Thursday, August 18 at 7 p.m.

Market in Newcastle
The North Wicklow Country Market, Wicklow’s oldest market, takes place every Saturday morning from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the Community Center in Newcastle.

Municipal District of Greystones 2022 People of the Year Award
Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s awards.
Prizes are awarded in various categories: Sportsman of the Year, Civic Award, Special Personality of the Year, Cultural Personality of the Year, Business Award, Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

The closing date for applications is August 19. The awards will be presented at a special dinner at Greystones Golf Club on Thursday, September 29 at 8 p.m.
Dinner tickets cost €35 and are available from the Municipal District of Greystones.

Delgany Dahlia Show
The Delgany and District Horticultural Society’s Annual Dahlia Show will take place on Saturday 27th August at St Patrick’s School, Church Road, Greystones.

The Greystones Family Resource Center (GFRC) caters to families who need that extra support.
The GFRC can connect with the families themselves or put them in touch with organizations that help them.
The center also focuses on domestic violence and a new outreach clinic with Bray Women’s Refuge will be held once a month at Greystones FRC.
Additionally, Bray Women’s Refuge offers supports to the Greystones community, including safety planning and court accompaniment. Their 24/7 helpline is 01 286 6163.

South Leinster Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) is the state’s financial advice service, guiding people through their debts and helping them manage their money.

Anu Wicklow is Bray Women’s Refuge’s outreach service and provides support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence, their children and the community.
All of their services are confidential, free, and run specifically for County Wicklow residents.
Anu holds regular individual support clinics at Greystones, which are available by appointment.
A Domestic Violence and Abuse Resource Pack has been developed which contains information on specific supports available in Wicklow.

Disability Action Group
A disabled community community group in the North Wicklow area is looking for other local disabled people to join.
The group is called Disability Action Together Group (DATG) North Wicklow.
DATG provides a space for people with disabilities to network and have a strong voice to advocate for change on issues that affect them.

Service for job seekers
The IMPACT employment initiative provides support for people with disabilities to find employment, advance their careers or become self-employed.
Supports include mentoring, training, internships and development.
IMPACT is open to people living in Bray and North Wicklow aged 18 and over who receive Disability Allowance.
IMPACT was created by a consortium of local groups led by the Bray Area Partnership.
