Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express launches 2023/24 season

Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express has launched its 2023/24 season.

The line has operated the Norwegian Coastal Express between Bergen and Kirkenes since 1893.

The 2023/24 season is now open for booking, with highlights such as on-board lectures and the chance to sample authentic Norwegian cuisine.

Over 70 optional shore excursions will be offered using emissions-free catamarans and sightseeing buses.

Guests will begin their journey in the line’s luxury lounge in Bergen, where they can book excursions and savor local dishes.

Hurtigruten is offering its customers a Northern Lights Promise: If the celestial light show does not make an appearance on a 12 or 11 day trip, the line will offer another six or seven day trip for free.

Hedda Felin, CEO of Hurtigruten Norway, said: “The Hurtigruten Coastal Express is the original coastal journey and a unique way to experience the Norwegian coast. With nearly 130 years of experience and history, the ship acts as a lifeline for small communities along the coast.

“Our guests can experience the ‘most beautiful voyage in the world’ aboard modern and comfortable ships that also carry on the tradition of transporting local goods and passengers, an essential part of daily life along the coast.

“Every year, we transport over 100,000 tonnes of goods, from food to medicine!

“We are very proud to operate a heritage trip with such strong traditions, but which, through innovations, make it sustainable, modern and always relevant to our international travelers, local passengers and the local businesses who rely on us to the transport of goods. “
