Membership propels Coffs Harbor Yacht Club into the future – News Of The Area

The Yacht Club regularly organizes sailing regattas as well as learning to sail courses.

EMERGING into the calm, sunny winter weather, the Coffs Harbor Yacht Club Board are confident that the postponements due to the pandemic and perpetual rain are behind them.

The cancellations wreaked havoc on the club’s event calendar and members missed both competitions and classes.

Now the Council is enacting its forward planning designed to celebrate and develop the iconic waterfront watersports centre.

With a mission statement to increase support for ocean water sports for the Coffs Harbor area and northern New South Wales, the club’s goals are to have a safe and thriving sailing school with a schedule of regatta events for dinghies and keelboats, managing major water sports events and functions for the community and members.

“The Yacht Club offers sailing, sailing and learn-to-sail lessons, as well as other water sports and community clubs,” Commodore John Wait told News Of The Area.

“We want to build on the history of our community involvement.

“We are committed to providing the community with facilities and amenities to enjoy the port, marina and foreshore.

“The site is essential for access and enjoyment of the beach from the pier.

“The more members we have, the more we can give back to the community through water sports and equipment to enjoy them.”

Richard Hinton, Managing Director, added: “The Yacht Club offers a range of memberships with discounts on food, use of showers and personal use equipment.

“And you get the best view in the city’s most iconic neighborhood and friendly service.

“The Coffs Harbor Yacht Club is here to stay.

“Come join us and make our point of view, your point of view,” said Commodore John Wait.

“Together we can continue to provide fantastic community gear for sailing, water sports and community groups.”
