Photo report: The Lake of the Ozarks shootout on the Strip reaches new heights

As expected, the Lake of the Ozarks shooting in central Missouri hit a home run with last night’s huge shooting on the Strip along Bagnell Dam Boulevard. In fact, this year’s event was the biggest the event has ever held.

With enthusiastic Charley (holding the sign) in the lead, the lovely ladies of Speed On The Water raised nearly $1,200 for Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter in the Shootout On The Strip during the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Photo by Pete Boden/Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

Justin Wagner, who owns Osage Beach-based Waves and Wheels and has sponsored Shootout On The Strip for the eighth straight year, said he was blown away by the turnout.

“Man, what can I say?” Wagner asked as the massive event drew to a close. “The crowds this year were incredible and the boats that showed up were off the charts. There’s nothing else like it in the world.

Waves and Wheels founder Justin Wagner helped make Shootout On The Strip one of the biggest and best performance boat gatherings in the world.

With over 100 boats – representing every aspect of the powerboat industry, from outboard motor sport catamarans and massively propelled V-bottom catamarans and catamarans to stunning pontoons and classic-looking runabouts – and tons of the coolest towing rigs on the planet parked along the boulevard, Wagner wasn’t exaggerating.

Mark Waddington of Performance Boat Center, the title sponsor of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout since 2014, agreed with Wagner.

“The Strip was busy last night for sure,” Waddington said Thursday. “I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him this busy.”

Once again, the lovely ladies of Speed On The Water were well represented on the strip while raising money for a worthy cause. After walking Bagnell Dam Boulevard for about an hour, they ended up with nearly $1,200 in cash donations to help the nonprofit Ozarks Kat and K9 Shelter in Sunrise Beach.

In just about every aspect – minus the set-up and clean-up – the annual Strip Shootout was a huge success, which means the rest of this week should be pretty spectacular.
