RNZYS Three Kings Offshore Race Registrations are open tonight • Live Sail Die
Registration for the RNZYS Three Kings Offshore Race opens at 7 p.m. on Sunday July 4, 2021.
This 500 nautical mile race will be open to only 40 yachts, including up to 20 short-crewed with only two skippers. The race will be Category 2 with advanced sea survival and first aid certifications recommended.
Registration is open to keelboats of 8.4 m and over and multihulls of 10 m and over that meet the entry criteria. Registrations will open at 7 p.m. on Sunday July 4 and the RNZYS expects strong support for this race. In the event of a full sale, a waiting list system will be applied.
With the continued growth of two-man races, the RNZYS are pleased to have the support of the Short Handed Sailing Association of New Zealand (SSANZ) for this race. The Three Kings Race acts as an excellent lead to the SSANZ 2022 North Triangle and 2023 Round North Island, and could be used to qualify for the RNI.

Departing from Westhaven on Thursday November 18 and heading north, the yachts will pass Cape Reinga and head for the Three Kings across the difficult strip of water where the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea converge. The fleet will then compete against each other to see who can be first around the group of islands traditionally known for their diving and excellent fishing, before turning the corner and hoping for a quick return home, rather than a long one. climb until the finish.
The RNZYS Three Kings Offshore Race is part of the Royal Akarana Yacht Club Blue Water Championships, and serves as race three in this series of four races.
