Inside New Evo Yachts flagship 24m Evo V8

The 24m Evo V8 is the new flagship of Evo Yachts, the revolutionary brand owned by Blu Emme Yachts receives its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021. Evo V8 is the first yacht in the V line, which is designed to meet a wide variety of uses and offers a cruising concept at the crossroads of the worlds of sailing and motor yachts. The designer of the yacht, Valerio Rivellini, explains the origins of the project: “In general, motor yacht enthusiasts start their holidays when they arrive at their destination, either at anchor off the coast or in port, while enthusiasts sailboats start their vacations right away, as soon as they get on board. Evo V8 combines the speed of a motor yacht with the comfort and relaxation of sailing ”. Main salon The first unit has an innovative layout, especially in terms of the beach, just 70cm above the waterline, which enjoys continuous contact with nature and uninterrupted 180 degree panoramic views thanks to the sides of the hull that extend outward. Main cabin and saloon The brand’s trademark Xtensions bulwark system is not used in this case to increase the available surface area, which is already enormous, but rather to remove all visual obstacles to produce an unobstructed view of the water, not to mention a pleasant breeze that makes the deck a pleasant place to live at any time of the day.VIP cabinA large living room with dining area surrounded by high-tech glass surfaces that open partially, three cabins, four helm stations and two separate lanes to the main deck.A peculiarity of the layout, and a key result of the interplay between spaces typical of sailing and motor yachts, is the inclusion of no less than four helm stations on board. The first station forward of the main salon on the main deck and the second on the roof, equipped with a retractable pilot console, are connected by two yacht wheels on the port and starboard sides of the main deck. With a clear reference to the world of sailboats, they are an invitation to navigate as close as possible to the water, while being very practical during maneuvers. The space between the two helm wheels is free, but the side seats and the sofas which surround them invite socialization between the pilot and his guests, as is the case on a sailboat. in this segment, is designed to create an effect of surprise. The challenge for the designer was to give it a flat profile so that it was not immediately visible. Accessible only by means of a retractable hydraulic ladder, with telescoping handrails that extend to protect guests while cruising, it is fitted with a retractable helm console to operate the yacht without having to leave the roof. Inspired by the exclusive terraces of modern penthouses, the rooftop – with four lounge chairs, a shower, and a fridge – is the perfect setting for both a sunset aperitif and secluded relaxation during the day. Outdoor living spaces designed for comfort and conviviality. Bow space The design process placed a strong emphasis on the concept of user-friendliness, borrowed from the sailing experience. As a result, the living area on the main deck is part of the same set, with the yacht’s two wheels on either side and the helm station on the roof. Beach area Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines deliver a top speed of 24 knots, with a cruising speed of 20 knots and a range of 400 miles. The carefully hidden storage areas contain not only the 3.4 meter tender, but also a jet ski, sea bob and electric scooter. The Evo Yachts shipyard is based near Naples. It was born in 2014 from a happy meeting between Blu Emme Yachts and the Neapolitan yacht designer Valerio Rivellini. The heart and entrepreneurial spirit that kicked off EVO comes from Blu Emme Yachts, a luxury yacht refit company. Blu Emme was created in 2013 by the Mercuri brothers, a family whose entrepreneurial experience spans different sectors.Credit: Evo Yachts
