– Business – A look at the 62nd Genoa International Boat Show

The 62nd Genoa International Boat Show will be bigger and better than ever…

The Genoa International Boat Show, organized by I Saloni Nautici on behalf of Confindustria Nautica (Italian Maritime Industry Association) has announced to the press that preparations are already well advanced for the 62nd edition of the Show, which will take place from 22 to September 27 of this year. The industry has proven through the global pandemic that such events are not vital to the health of the market, however, the success of yachting events since the lifting of restrictions has shown that there is still an appetite for the network and the collaboration.

The 62nd Genoa International Boat Show will bring together 407 different companies. Confindustria Nautica pointed out that, compared to 2021, they received 68% more requests and will host 92.1% more moorings. Investment in the area amounts to 370 million euros, of which 290 come from private investments. The overall impact of the show from an economic point of view is extremely important: 2050 people will be employed over the five days and 1000 people will be employed directly through the organization of the International Boat Show in Genoa.

Events over the past two years have been lackluster to say the least, and attempts to digitize the shows have yet to take off. But what the pandemic has proven is that through focused and efficient organisation, in full compliance with all health and safety regulations, industry-leading exhibitors and visitors can benefit from a platform to a positive discourse and b2b relations.

The development of the Levante Waterfront Genoa project began in 2020 and is proceeding according to schedule. By 2023, the entire estate will feature a completely new layout – some of which was already visible during last year’s edition – which promises to be even more user-friendly. The space will be fully occupied by the Genoa International Boat Show throughout its duration, helping to further strengthen the influence of the event in Europe and the Mediterranean. The 62nd Genoa International Boat Show will once again follow the successful multi-specialist format with innovative services developed and tailored specifically to the five market segments the event represents: Yachts, Superyachts, the world of sailing, discovery boating, trade in technology and ‘living the sea’.

This year, the yacht and superyacht segment will also include a catamaran hub suitable for multihulls, as well as the super boat area suitable for ribs over 10 meters in length. The range of attractions is completed by the power village, an elegant space reserved for motorboats and a relaxation area where visitors can enjoy the exhibitions. The same space will host the VIP lounge, an exclusive reception area enhanced by partners from among the most prestigious luxury and lifestyle brands.

The world of sailing section of the boat show will aim to offer a global vision of the world of sailing, highlighting the innovations at the heart of a segment that is constantly evolving in terms of design. Style, technology and safety are all key elements that drive a sailing industry fueled by the passion of its people. The world of sailing is where the latest boats, equipment, components and technical apparel take center stage. The district provides onlookers with spaces specifically dedicated to relaxation and entertainment while combining the highest standards of efficiency and safety.
