Like all SILENT yachts, the four-deck Silent 100 Explorer features solar-electric transmission that preserves the purity of the ocean and embraces the sound of silence for added guest comfort. Similar to the SILENT 64 (the first solar-powered production boat from SILENT-YACHTS to cross the Atlantic Ocean in January 2018) and all other SILENT models, the SILENT 100 Explorer is designed to have worldwide cruising capabilities. whole.
The yacht measures 31 meters overall with a width of 13.62 meters and a height of 10.46 meters. The renewable electric power comes from a set of solar panels in the hardtop that separate to reveal a deck that can double as a touch-and-go helipad. Compared to the previous flagship, the SILENT 80, the new SILENT 100 Explorer has an additional deck and much more space both outside and inside. For example, the parental suite of the SILENT 100 Explorer is 51 m², while the same cabin of the SILENT 80 is 27 m². The comparison of the rear exterior spaces is 105 m² against 61 m².

Solar cells provide up to 40 kWp and clean solar electric energy is stored in a battery bank with a capacity of up to 800 kWh. Coupled with two 340 kW (@ 700 rpm) electric motors, the SILENT 100 Explorer has an economical speed of 6 to 8 knots, a cruising speed of 10 knots and a top speed of 14 to 16 knots.
Two or three diesel generators, depending on the requested specifications, provide back-up auxiliary power. Because solar energy is completely renewable, the SILENT 100 Explorer has in theory unlimited range, similar to all other SILENT models.
Space to spare
Although the SILENT 100 Explorer is just over 30 meters in length, it has a gross tonnage of 440 GT with exterior and interior living space equivalent to a 40 to 50 meter monohull motor yacht.
This abundance of space typical of multihulls means that the SILENT 100 Explorer has five guest cabins on the main deck and in the starboard hull, in addition to a huge full beam master cabin with private office on the main deck forward. .
The aft section of the main deck is devoted to a very spacious salon and dining area, while the open aft deck with whirlpool tub is set up for sunbathing with a panoramic balcony over the transom, bar and breakfast table. -breakfast.
The wheelhouse is on the upper deck (with the adjoining captain’s cabin), where there is also a sky lounge and bar with alfresco dining areas for a full complement of guests on the open aft deck.
The fly deck has more sunbathing space, a wet bar, a second helm station and the aforementioned space under the sliding solar panels which can be used for helicopter operations or as a lounge. outdoor sport, for example.
A spiral staircase for the exclusive use of guests connects all deck levels.
The galley, crew quarters (including crew mess) and hotel services are all housed in the port hull. The crew has a dedicated staircase to access all deck levels so as not to disturb guests.
There’s even room for a 7.5-meter limo dinghy garage between the two hulls and a smaller crew dinghy and toys in the side-loading garage in the port hull.
“The huge family space aboard the Silent 100 Explorer has to be experienced to be believed,” says Michael Köhler. “It also means that customers are free to customize the arrangement to their personal preferences.
