The official technical delegate and chief of course positions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are announced

The Official Technical Delegate and Chief of Race positions for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games have been announced by World Sailing. The nominees are:

  • Ricardo Navaro (BRA), Technical Delegate – Ricardo is the current Chair of the Race Officials Committee and served as the Field Manager at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He has served as Technical Delegate at several Regional Games including the Pan American Games in 2019, a role he will resume in 2023. This is his first position as a technical delegate at the Olympic Games.
  • Pinar Coskuner Genc (TUR), Senior Race Director – Pinar was a key member of the Tokyo 2020 race management team and is currently Chairman of the Regions and Development Committee.
  • Ana Sanchez Del Campo Ferrer (ESP), International Jury Chair – Ana is currently Chair of the Racing Rules Committee and represented World Sailing on the Jury team at Tokyo 2020.
  • Jürgen Cluytmans (BEL), Technical Committee Chairman – Jurgen is currently Chairman of the Equipment Committee and previously served as Vice-Chairman of the Technical Committee at Tokyo 2020.

Genc will lead a team of course representatives, responsible for organizing the races of each Olympic event, with a support team of additional international race officers.

Ana Sanchez will chair the international jury, leading a team that will be responsible for ensuring that the racing rules of sailing are correctly applied to ensure fair competition.

Cluytmans will chair a committee of international measurers, each with a specific area of ​​expertise related to Olympic equipment used in competition at the Games. The Technical Committee will be responsible for ensuring that each boat complies with the class specific rules.
