One of the many memorable events of this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival was the launch of the Wave 50 catamaran, a 50ft (14.9m) vessel with a radical design designed to grab attention.
Built by Polish shipyard Wave Catamarans, the Wave 50 has an interesting design with a distinctively shaped superstructure. It has modern hulls with inverted bows, a coachroof that returns to the front balcony and large mirrored windows. The panoramic view is superb and there is a general feeling of spaciousness aboard the Wave 50, unusual in a 50 foot yacht.

Access to the solarium and the sliding roof of the yacht is offered by comfortable stairs and it is a private place where you can sunbathe and relax on the huge sofa. There are also seats, a refrigerator and an overhead projector.

You can accommodate up to eight people on the Wave 50. The owner’s cabin has its own living room, bathroom and double bed. A separate cabin is reserved for crew members.

A fully equipped kitchen and dining area form the main deck of the catamaran, as well as a seating area in the bow, where you can sit on the L-shaped sofa and watch TV. But these can all be customized according to customer preferences, as explained by Wave.

The layout of the Wave 50 is not the only modern feature of the yacht, however. The catamaran is powered by a hybrid propulsion system with two 60 hp engines and two 18.5 kW electric motors. Wave claims that this hybrid drive system, together with a bulky power bank, provides an excellent opportunity for the autonomy of the boat’s systems.

Wave builds its Wave 50 catamaran to order, customizing it according to the customer’s needs. Pricing starts at $ 1.5 million plus taxes.
